Summer 2020 part 1

In Summer 2019 I went to visit relatives in USA which was really fun. However, in 2020 I only travelled inside of Norway because of covid-19. I went to two places on separate weekend trips. The places where Kristiansand and Lillehammer, Norway. Kristiansand is located more south than Oslo and Lillehammer is a bit more north. Kristiansand is located in a part of Norway that’s very popular during the summer because of the weather and that it’s near the coast. I went with my older brother, my mom and dad and we drove a car.

The hotel breakfast was different than usual since it wasn’t allowed with buffet. When checking in we had to choose which time we wanted to eat breakfast. I think we had to specifiy what kind of breakfast. I always asks if it’s anything lactosefree. I can eat butter and hard cheese but not other dairy products. I’ve found it out through trial and error.

The first breakfast.
Breakfast on the last day.

I didn’t take any pictures of the hotel, but it was an old hotel but it had great reviews. It was also very close to the train station. If you don’t have a car, you can take the train. The hotel is called First Hotel Breiseth.

After we checked in we went to get some dinner. Unfortunately, the asian restaurant lost electricity in the kitchen so our food was delayed…. It was good anyway. My parents prefer asian food and sometimes it’s easier for me since there’s a lower chance of lactose content. I really like eating fresh Vietnamese spring rolls. I also had meat and eggs. I can’t handle spicy food, which might seem odd since I’m Vietnamese Norwegian. I think my dad ordered duck.

We also did some exploring and I bought a new winter jacket which was on sale. It’s quite normal with seasonal sales. There’s a lot of hills in Lillehammer and it’s covered in stone.

On the second day we went to the Olympia park. My brother and I walked all the way up the ski jumping hill. My parents walked around by themselves.

First we went to the mountains:

Then we went to Olympia Park:

It was all uphill and it was really sunny….

There was also a lift but we ended up walking all the way to the top. I don’t like heights that much, but the view was worth it. My legs were burning and the sun didn’t help either…I think it was worth it!

It was a bit harder to get dinner this day since it was Saturday and it was full. I ended up getting pizza. I get grumpy when I’m hungry and thirsty…

The pizza was pretty good. I know what I can eat and what I can’t eat. I can eat pizza but not with the dressing.

Part 2 will be in a different post!

Bye for now!
